Community Care services reflect GEMS' dedication to transform villages/communities through transformation of individuals and family units. GEMS focuses on three key areas with this initiative: Moral Care, Child Care and Health Care. Our People Project (OPP) is an example of how communities that were reeling under social oppression, substance addiction, and moral degradation for decades are adopted. It is heartwarming to observe the changes as these communities experience transformation as children and youth now have access to formal education and nutritious meals consistently over the years, Puja Kumari from Puttanawa Tola may be the first success story but far from being the only one, as several other youth are following her footsteps to actively pursue higher education, which is paving way for the transformation of the social and moral fabric of the entire community.

Seeds sown 40 years ago to impact literacy, and nurtured with care, has resulted in the fruits of transformation evident now in the State of Bihar. Boldly marching forward and dreaming for greater fruitfulness not only in Bihar, but also in neighboring states.

What started as a feeble attempt at Medical Services in the year 1975, and grew to the establishment of GEMS Hospital in Sikaria, Bihar, in 1991, establishment of GEMS Hospital in Dudhi, Uttar Pradesh in 2014, Government recognized Dedicated Covid Health Center (DCHC) in 2021 along with several other Medical/Surgical camps and Community outreach events, has now blossomed to a vital ongoing service to over 50,000 people every year.

GEMS recently converted 26 of its Hindi medium junior schools into Social Action Centre (SAC). These Centers also help in community transformation by providing livelihood trainings, and awareness programs.

Humanitarian services is a model for community transformation by extending love & hope for thousands of hopeless, deprived, destitute and homeless people through provision of food, education, clothing, medical, recreation and moral instruction. Major initiatives include, Operation Upliftment of Rural (OUR) People Project (OPP), Rehabilitation of Abused, Helpless, Abandoned & Bonded (RAHAB) Project, Shishu Kalyan Kendra (SKK), Advocacy & Assistance for the marginalized tribe of Musahars (traditional rat-eaters), among others.
